Slovensko je súčasťou celoeurópskej siete 36 národných kompetenčných centier pre vysokovýkonné počítanie (HPC). Projekt EuroCC 3 nadväzuje na predchádzajúce fázy EuroCC a EuroCC 2 a ďalej rozvíja kompetencie, služby a spoluprácu v oblasti HPC, analýzy veľkých dát (HPDA) a umelej inteligencie (AI). Národné kompetenčné centrá prepájajú akademickú sféru, priemysel, verejnú správu a ďalších používateľov a poskytujú prístup k odborným znalostiam, službám, vzdelávaniu a výpočtovým zdrojom. Cieľom EuroCC 3 je rozšíriť využívanie HPC v Európe a podporovať jeho uplatnenie vo vede, priemysle a verejnom sektore.
